Postgraduate in Fire Engineering and Risk Analysis

Description:

Hazardous materials, hazardous facilities, fires, explosions, technological risks or natural hazards are examples of the dangers that surround us and that must be managed in a global and integrated way. The need to protect people, property and the environment from these risks requires professionals trained to detect them, analyze them and to develop the necessary responses that guarantee the appropriate levels of safety for society, making serve the most advanced technologies currently available.

The course in fire engineering and risk analysis aims to prepare professionals with the necessary knowledge and skills to respond from a global and cross-cutting perspective to the requirements that companies and institutions currently have in the field of security.

Monographic fire simulation course applied to performance design

Description:

Computer simulation tools offer the possibility of implementing alternative solutions to the prescriptive code to solve fire protection problems. With a good training in its use and understanding its limitations and strengths, we can reliably recreate complex scenarios and quantitatively evaluate the solutions implemented.

Goals:

The aim of the course is to introduce the student to the application of performance design as an alternative to design
in fire protection engineering, also introduce it in the use of the SDS simulator and the tool
Pyrosim (which facilitates the development of models to be simulated with SDS) and the use of evacuation simulators presenting the theoretical principles of the field of human behavior, in order to use them as a working tool in the application of performance-based design.
The course is aimed at professionals with previous training and / or experience in the field of fire safety who want to get started in the application of performance-based design and in the use of fire simulation and evacuation tools. necessary to carry it out.

The aim of the course is to introduce the student to the use of the FDS simulator and the Pyrosim tool (which facilitates the development of models to be simulated with FDS) in order to use them as a working tool. in the application of performance-based design.

The course is aimed at professionals with previous training and / or experience in the field of fire safety who want to get started in the use of the FDS simulator.
